WHAT MOTIVATES US

We love Delta Ibo land, in Nigeria, and our adopted country, the U.S.A. Our MOTTO is Love, Integrity, and Support. Our desire to fulfill the tenets of responsible citizenship is what drives and motivates us. We are determined to contribute to the establishment and the maintenance of the excellent reputation of all Delta Ibo women in Atlanta, Georgia.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE
Here are the DIWA Atlanta projects:

Since its inception in February, 2016, Delta Ibo Women Association in Atlanta has volunteered in numerous organizations here in Atlanta. This includes the Atlanta Food bank, and Books for Africa. This is in the spirit of giving back to our community here in Atlanta that has given so much to us.

We made donations to mothers and their babies in Lagos Island Maternity, in Lagos, Nigeria

We have organized an inauguration in Atlanta, bringing together our Delta Ibo speaking people in diaspora. This event, featured traditional dances, guests from Nigeria, and it offered our children and our families the opportunity to make friends and renew old friendships. It was also a successful fund raiser that affords us the opportunity to embark on projects that touch lives, especially the lives of the disenfranchised and less privileged mothers and children in our communities back home in Delta State, Nigeria.

We have joined other Associations around the globe in providing relief supplies and palliatives worth thousands of dollars in view of the current COVID 19 Pandemic (CORONA VIRUS) to our various communities back home in the Delta Ibo speaking area of Delta State, Nigeria.

We have made various connections with other women organizations here in Atlanta, and made lasting connections with the Nigeria Consulate here in Atlanta.

We have organized annual summer picnics and end of year/ Christmas parties for the enjoyment of our family and friends.

We encourage every Delta Ibo Woman descendant, wherever you may reside in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America, to join DIWA. We promote the formation of branches across U.S.A to pursue the goals of the Association, and for the support of each other, wherever there are ten or more Delta Ibo Women citizens by birth, and by marriage.
